Strategy and Impact

Our strategic plan sets out our vision and strategy for the next five years at Manipulate Arts, from 2022 until 2027 (note that this plan was developed under our previous company name of Puppet Animation Scotland). It was developed through extensive consultation with artists, audiences, venues and industry partners alongside our board and staff team. What we’ve articulated here is the beginning of a conversation about our shared future.

This business plan is a living, fluid document which will continue to evolve throughout the five years of its life. It establishes a clear direction of travel, but individual strategy elements and objectives will likely change.

Looking to the organisation’s future, we have identified five key development themes which will shape the next five years of our life, as well as continued focus on presentation of high-quality work, artist development and opportunities to participate which are interweaved through our activity on an ongoing basis.

The five key development themes are:

  • Partnerships and Collaboration
  • Community Engagement
  • Wellbeing, Empowerment and Fair Pay
  • Business Sustainability
  • Access for All

You can read more about these ares for development in our Strategic Plan. View our 2022 – 2027 Strategic Plan here.

If you’d like to discuss possible collaborations with us or would like to ask any questions about our future plans or objectives, please feel free to drop us a line.

In response to our organisational development themes, we launched our new nationwide community and partnership programme Captivate in 2022, read our report from the pilot year of delivery with our partners in North Lanarkshire, Uist and Western Edinburgh.
